Answer and Explanation: Diffusion is the movement of molecules from the region of higher to the region of lower concentration. Diffusion occurs passively, which means that there is no energy input in order to make the molecules move. Active transport, on the other hand, is the movement of molecules across a cell membrane from lower concentration into a region of higher concentration, assisted by enzymes and requiring energy.
