At STP, which property can be used to differentiate one-mole samples of Cl2(g) and Kr(g)?

NY Regents Chemistry Exam August 2023 Question 8

8 At STP, which property can be used to differentiate one-mole samples of Cl2(g) and Kr(g)?

(1) phase

(2) pressure

(3) chemical reactivity

(4) temperature

Solution: Both substances have (g) next to them signifying gaseous phase. STP stands for standard temperature and pressure. Both gases are at STP and must have the same temperature and pressure eliminating choices 2 and 4. Choice 3 is the only answer choice left.
