Based on Table G, which compound has the greatest solubility in 100. grams of water at 10.°C?

NY Regents Chemistry Exam August 2023 Question 16

16. Based on Table G, which compound has the greatest solubility in 100. grams of water at 10.°C?

(1) HCl

(2) NaCl (3) KCl

(4) NH4Cl

Solution: Table G on the Reference Table shows the solubility of different substances in 100g of water at different temperatures. We need to find 10C on the x-axis and go up until we hit the curve for every substance at this temperature to determine the solubility. HCl has the greatest solubility at around 77g. Choice 1
