50 Given the equations A and B:



Which type of nuclear reaction do these equations represent?

(1) Both A and B are fission.

(2) Both A and B are fusion.

(3) A is fission and B is fusion.

(4) A is fusion and B is fission.


Solution: In fission we see neutron on the left side. Fusion is a nuclear reaction with small nuclei coming together such as hydrogens coming together to form larger atoms. Equation A is fusion while equation B is fission. Choice 4 is the correct answer.
